Glenelg Country had lost three games on the road, but after bumping their record up to 7-14 on Wednesday that streak is in the rearview. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 victory over the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cougars. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-1 on Monday.

As for Our Lady of Mount Carmel, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season. That's two games in a row now that they have lost by just one run.

For Our Lady of Mount Carmel's part, Andy Molina-Sosa put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over 3.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits. That's the fewest hits Molina-Sosa has allowed since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run.

In other batting news, Lance Gregory made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Our Lady of Mount Carmel's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-1 (and 3-9 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Ricky Vaughn, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three RBI and one run.

Looking ahead, Glenelg Country will host St. Paul's at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Crusaders' pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so the Dragons' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Our Lady of Mount Carmel, they will head out to take on Severn School at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
