Preview: Idalia Wolves vs. Eads Eagles
Two dominant backs in Gabe Kechter and Stockton Mitchek are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Idalia Wolves will square off against the Eads Eagles at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Idalia's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last three contests.
Idalia can now show off five landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They really took it to Eads for the full four quarters, racking up a 54-24 victory on the road. The score was close at the half, but Idalia pulled away in the second half with 34 points.
Tarek Glanz had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 96 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries, and also threw for 125 yards and four touchdowns while completing 81.8% of his passes. Kechter was another key contributor, rushing for 157 yards and a touchdown while picking up 9.2 yards per carry.
Idalia has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. As for Eads, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.
Friday's match might be decided on the ground as these two are both standouts in the run game. Idalia has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 226.4 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Eads struggles in that department as they've been averaging 218.7 per game. It's looking like Friday's game might have some serious battles in the trenches.
