Softball Recap: Hackensack Comes Up Short

After flying high against Eastside last Monday, Hackensack came back down to earth. The Comets came up short against the Ridgefield Park Scarlets on Wednesday, falling 11-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Comets in their meetings with the Scarlets: they've now lost five in a row.

Hackensack saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Briana Darling, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. Darling is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last ten games she's played dating back to last season.

Hackensack now has a losing record of 1-2.

Coming up, Hackensack will challenge Northern Highlands at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Ridgefield Park, they will square off against Academy of the Holy A at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
