Basketball Game Preview: St. Bede Bruins vs. Midland Timberwolves + How To Watch

St. Bede has gone a perfect 5-0 against Midland recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Bruins will look to defend their home court against the Timberwolves at 7:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with St. Bede sitting on three straight wins and Midland on five.

St. Bede had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 20-point drubbing they dealt Yorkville Christian on Tuesday. The Bruins blew past the Mustangs 52-32. That 20 point margin sets a new team best for the Bruins this season.

St. Bede's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Savannah Bray led the charge by putting up 13 points and six boards. Another player making a difference was Hannah Heiberger, who almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds.

St. Bede was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Midland). They blew past Galva, posting a 60-30 victory. While the Timberwolves didn't have the best season last year (they finished 12-19), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Midland's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for St. Bede, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

St. Bede strolled past Midland in their previous meeting back in February by a score of 45-29. Will the Bruins repeat their success, or do the Timberwolves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
