Baseball Recap: Finneytown Takes a Loss

Finneytown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wyoming Cowboys. The Wildcats were not able to make up for their defeat to the Cowboys from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Cameron Mefford made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. He has become a key player for Finneytown: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 0-6 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Kendall Richard, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Finneytown's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Wyoming, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-5.

Wyoming has already played their next game (against Ross), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Finneytown will be paying especially close attention to the Cowboys' matchup: after the Cowboys face off against the Rams, they'll take on Finneytown again at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
