Baseball Recap: Cypress Comes Up Short

Cypress and St. John Bosco squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Cypress had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Braves by a score of 2-1. The Centurions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Braves apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2021.

Cypress has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 21-8 record this season. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only 1.33 runs. As for St. John Bosco, their win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-5.

Cypress does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for St. John Bosco, they will square off against Sierra Canyon at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Braves 1.6, the Trailblazers 2.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
