Basketball Game Preview: Bruton Panthers vs. Windsor Dukes

The Bruton Panthers will head out to square off against the Windsor Dukes at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Bruton has three straight wins, Windsor has 12 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Bruton is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They were the clear victor by an 80-55 margin over Jamestown on Friday. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 20 points or more this season.

Brandon Freeman was his usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double on 17 points and nine steals. Those nine steals gave him a new career-high. Johnathan Hopkins was another key player, as he made all 5 shots he took racking up 13 points and five steals.

Bruton was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 74-24, which was the final score in Windsor's tilt against Franklin on Wednesday.

Bruton's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-4. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.0 points per game. As for Windsor, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-10.
