Baseball Recap: Ambridge Victorious

Ambridge posted their closest win since March 25th on Tuesday. They won by a run and slipped past the Central Valley Warriors 3-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bridgers.

Joe Leseiko made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Ambridge is 4-1-1 when Leseiko allows three or fewer earned runs, but 3-4 otherwise. Leseiko was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March.

Leseiko wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Carter Mason, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Ambridge's victory bumped their record up to 7-5-1. As for Central Valley, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Coincidentally, Ambridge and Central Valley will both be playing Blackhawk the next time they take the field. The Warriors will head out to face the Cougars at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Bridgers will host them at 4:00 p.m. on the 23rd.
