Softball Recap: Milton Gets the Win

Milton won the last time they faced Edgewood and things went their way on Saturday too. The Red Hawks came out on top against the Crusaders by a score of 7-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Red Hawks.

Trinity Harris made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Harris wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Reese Riley, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Those two RBI gave Riley a new career-high. Morgan Bastian was another, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Milton's record now sits at 12-10. As for Edgewood, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-7.

Looking ahead, Milton will take on Whitnall at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Edgewood, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Portage at 5:00 p.m. The Crusaders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season.
