It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Lincoln had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Orange Glen Patriots 6-5. The victory continues a trend for the Hornets in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now won three in a row.
Ashly Pineda was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Brissa Hernandez was excellent, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI. Nyema Curtis was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run.
Lincoln pushed their record up to 19-11 with the win, which was their third straight at home. As for Orange Glen, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-14-1.
