Basketball Recap: Sequoyah Takes a Loss

If Sequoyah was riding high fresh off their 66-45 takedown of Allatoona on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Chiefs fell 65-59 to the South Gwinnett Comets on Monday.

Jacody Terry had another great game (as he tends to do), shooting 73% from the field on his way to 31 points along with five boards and four steals for South Gwinnett. Terry is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least three every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Oziah Cobb, who posted nine points.

Sequoyah's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for South Gwinnett, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

Coming up, Sequoyah will head out on the road to face off against Cherokee at 7:30 p.m. on December 2. The Chiefs will be up against the Warriors' rather soft defense (which has allowed 53.5 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for South Gwinnett, they will take on Hebron Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Comets will need to watch out since the Lions have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
