Basketball Recap: Northwest Rankin Wins Going Away Against Anderson County

The Northwest Rankin Cougars were able to grind out a solid win over the Anderson County Mavericks on Tuesday, taking the game 58-49. The contest marked the Cougars' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Northwest Rankin is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points over those games. As for Anderson County, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 1-3.

Coming up, Northwest Rankin will square off against Madison Central at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Cougars will need to watch out since the Jaguars have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Anderson County, they will challenge Oneida at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
