Baseball Recap: Morgan Township Cherokees vs. Lowell Red Devils
After only two runs in their last game, Morgan Township made sure to put some runs up on the board against Lowell on Saturday. The Cherokees blew past the Red Devils 11-2. For the Cherokees, this counts as revenge for the 5-4 victory the Red Devils walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2023.

Jett Gheaja tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April.
On the hitting side, Matt Symer was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Clint Lemmons, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.
Morgan Township was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .452. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lowell only posted a batting average of .250.
Morgan Township's record now sits at 4-12-1. As for Lowell, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-7.
Morgan Township wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, an 11-4 win against Tri-Township on the 5th. As for Lowell, they have also already played their next contest, a 15-2 loss against Andrean on the 5th.
