Softball Recap: Milpitas Trojans vs. Los Altos Eagles
While Milpitas's victory against Los Altos wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Milpitas narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Los Altos 8-7. The victory continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won four in a row.
Marissa Gil was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched six innings while giving up five earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Those hits marked the first that she allowed this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one triple.
In other batting news, Milpitas let Casandra Curiel and Sophia Delgado run wild. Curiel went 3-for-5 with two doubles and one RBI, while Delgado scored a run while going 2-for-5. What's more, Delgado posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Dahana Gonzalez, who scored a run while going 3-for-5.
Milpitas was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .459. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Los Altos only posted a batting average of .276.

Milpitas' first win this season bumped their record up to 1-7. As for Los Altos, their record is now 6-4.
