Football Recap: Wallace Starts Season with Win on the Road + How To Watch

Wallace had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They really took it to the Timberline Spartans for the full four quarters, racking up a 68-26 victory. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 40-20.

Wallace found their leader in sophomore Cooper Miller, who threw for 208 yards and five touchdowns, and also rushed for 140 yards and one score on only 12 carries. Another player making a difference was Gus Scott, who picked up 77 receiving yards and four TDs.

Wallace didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Charlie Stone and Lennox Radford. Wallace received some extra help from Stone, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Wallace will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Soap Lake at 7:00 p.m. on September 5. As for Timberline, they will take on Potlatch at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
