Baseball Game Preview: Manitowoc Lutheran Lancers vs. Hilbert Wolves

The Manitowoc Lutheran Lancers will head out to take on the Hilbert Wolves at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Manitowoc Lutheran will be strutting in after a victory while Hilbert will be coming in after a loss.

Manitowoc Lutheran will bounce into Tuesday's matchup after beating Valders, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Lancers walked away with a 9-6 win over the Vikings on Monday. The victory was nothing new for the Lancers as they're now sitting on three straight.

Josiah Martin was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and five RBI. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Collin Rounds, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Manitowoc Lutheran hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Hilbert didn't have quite enough to beat Green Bay N.E.W. Lutheran on Monday and fell 3-2.

Hilbert saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Parker Anderson, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one double. That stolen base marked the first that Anderson has snagged this season.

Hilbert has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for Manitowoc Lutheran, the win got them back to even at 5-5.

Manitowoc Lutheran got the 'W' when the teams last played back in May of 2025 against Hilbert by a conclusive 15-5 score. Will the Lancers repeat their success, or do the Wolves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
