Soccer Recap: Newton Takes a Loss

Newton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They came up short against the Heritage Patriots, falling 9-1. If the Rams were looking for revenge after losing 10-0 to the Patriots when the teams met back in February of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Newton's goal came courtesy of Amaris Foster, who's now up to two this season.

Newton's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Heritage, their victory bumped their record up to 4-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Newton will welcome Grayson at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Newton has given up an average of 7.8 goals per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week. As for Heritage, they will look to defend their home pitch on Friday against Grovetown at 5:30 p.m. Heritage is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 4.1 goals per game this season.
