Recap: Winthrop College Prep Academy Spartans vs. IMG Academy White Ascenders
On Tuesday, Winthrop College Prep Academy suffered a rough 74-52 defeat at the hands of IMG Academy White. While losing is never fun, Winthrop College Prep Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 229th, while IMG Academy White is ranked 26th).
Despite the loss, Winthrop College Prep Academy saw an underclassman step up: Kai Brookins scored 11 points. The game was Brookins' fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Stephen Miller, who scored 10 points.
Winthrop College Prep Academy now has a losing record at 2-3. As for IMG Academy White, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Winthrop College Prep Academy will take on Braden River at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Braden River has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 208 points over their last three contests. As for IMG Academy White, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Chipley at 6:00 p.m. on December 8th.
