Preview: Blue Ridge Raiders vs. Riverside Vikings
Blue Ridge has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Riverside Vikings at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Blue Ridge put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season last Monday. Everything went their way against Elk Lake as Blue Ridge made off with a 58-33 victory. Given Blue Ridge's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 213th, while Elk Lake is ranked 567th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, the matchup between Riverside and Mid Valley on Monday hardly resembled the 26-25 effort from their previous meeting. Riverside fell just short of Mid Valley by a score of 60-57. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Riverside has suffered yet this season.
Blue Ridge is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. As for Riverside, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-2.
Blue Ridge skirted past Riverside 55-52 in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Does Blue Ridge have another victory up their sleeve, or will Riverside turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
