League recap: Perez overpowering for Firebaugh in past week

West Sierra league recap: 4/3/13

Danny Perez was the top pitcher in West Sierra this week, leading Firebaugh. He won two games and retired 14 batters.

The Eagles outperformed the rest of the league this week, as their two total wins led the league. Firebaugh beat Immanuel 1-0 and Fresno Christian 11-0.

The Eagles boasted the best pitching over the past week, holding opponents to the league's fewest hits and issuing the fewest walks.

West Sierra's Perez had a great week on the mound, as he led the league with two wins and 14 strikeouts.

The league boasted four .400 hitters over the past week. The group was paced by Juan Garcia, who collected six hits in eight at bats for a .750 average.



Perez threw a shutout as he led Firebaugh to victory over the Eagles, 1-0, on Wednesday. He struck out four, allowing two hits.

Jason Allen was an RBI machine on Tuesday, as he knocked in four runs during the Eagles' 11-0 win over the Eagles. He went 3-for-4 and scored two runs.
