Volleyball Recap: Mt. Vernon's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Mt. Vernon entered their tilt with Aurora on Saturday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Houn Dawgs. The Mountaineers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Houn Dawgs, too.

Ziah Schmutz paced Mt. Vernon's offense, picking up 12 kills. Schmutz got some help from Ruth Fish and her 11 assists. Camryn Cornell and Claire Hale kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Mt. Vernon's win bumped their record up to 13-6-2. As for Aurora, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-18.

Mt. Vernon has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Parkview on the 4th. As for Aurora, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Rogers on the 4th.
