Point Pleasant is a perfect 3-0 against Wayne since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Big Blacks will head out on the road to square off against the Pioneers at 5:30 p.m. Point Pleasant is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.

Point Pleasant will bounce into Wednesday's contest after beating Sissonville, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. The Big Blacks skirted past the Indians 7-5.

The team relied heavily on Chloe Patrick, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Mazey Thomas, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3.

Point Pleasant was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Wayne). They put the hurt on Ripley with a sharp 12-3 victory on Tuesday.

Kaliah Merritt made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. Merritt was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while going 3-for-5. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Lexi Napier and Kylee Copley did most of the damage at the plate: Napier went 2-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI, while Copley went 2-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Copley has posted since back in April of 2024. Maddie Dillon also deserves some recognition as she hit her first doubles of the season.

Point Pleasant now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Wayne, their record now sits at 3-4.

Point Pleasant came out on top in a nail-biter against Wayne in their previous matchup back in May of 2018, sneaking past 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Big Blacks since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
