Volleyball Recap: Coahulla Creek Comes Up Short

Coahulla Creek was the 2-0 winner over Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Colts fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 2-1 on Thursday. While the Colts didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Warriors 25-16 in the first set.

Coahulla Creek actually scored more points across those three sets (58-56), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 16-25, 25-23, 15-10.

Alyce Norton paced Coahulla Creek's offense, picking up 14 kills. Norton got some help from Maddy Hambright and her 11 assists. Norton also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Natalie Snow, racking up three apiece.

Coahulla Creek now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe, their win bumped their record up to 4-8.

Coming up, Coahulla Creek will take on Tallulah Falls in a tournament on Saturday. As for Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe, they will square off against Dade County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
