Softball Recap: Carmichaels' Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to 14

Carmichaels put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 6-1 victory over the West Greene Pioneers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 9-1 back in April.

The team relied heavily on Carys McConnell, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Ali Jacobs, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Carmichaels always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .520. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Greene only posted an OBP of .348.

Carmichaels' win was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-0. As for West Greene, the defeat snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 13-2 record.

Carmichaels and West Greene should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. The Mighty Mikes will face off against Waynesburg Central at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (71 vs. 200). The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Carmichaels 0.9, the Raiders 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, West Greene (ranked 102nd) will meet Bentworth (ranked 272nd) at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
