Baseball Recap: North Star Takes a Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, North Star couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the Troy Trojans by a score of 9-8 on Saturday. The Huskies were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Trojans earlier this season, when they won 7-6.

Jace Irwin was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Cole Young, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

North Star's defeat dropped their record down to 18-4. As for Troy, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-10 record this season.

As of now, neither North Star nor Troy have any future games scheduled.
