Softball Preview: Farmington Phoenix vs. Morgan Trojans

The Farmington Phoenix will take on the Morgan Trojans at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Farmington has given up an average of 10.2 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Farmington lost 12-6 to Lehi on Monday.

Jane Frey made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Morgan Rogers was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Meanwhile, Morgan entered their tilt with Dixie on Saturday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Flyers a 2-0 shutout. Lexi Hardman was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Morgan was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .435. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dixie only posted a batting average of .067.

Farmington dropped their record down to 1-3 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Morgan, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.
