Baseball Recap: Tucson High Magnet School Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Tucson High Magnet School extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday, bumping their season record up to 13-11 in the process. They walked away with a 5-1 victory over the Perry Pumas. The Badgers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Pumas, too.

Jordan Lesley made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Alan Krimpe, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. That double was his first of the season.

As for Perry, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-8 record this season. As for they, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 16-8.

On Perry's side, they got a good showing from Devin Dekavallas, who tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit.

At the plate, Luke Calendo made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

Tucson High Magnet School didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 8-5 win against Desert View on the 23rd. As for Perry, they will be playing at home against Chandler at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. The Pumas' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wolves have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season.
