Basketball Recap: Evergreen Christian Comes Up Short

Evergreen Christian lost against Virginia Academy back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Evergreen Christian Eagles were outmatched by the Virginia Academy Patriots and fell 75-25. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 197th, while the Patriots are ranked fifth).

When it comes to explaining why Evergreen Christian lost, don't look at Adriana Jenkins. Despite the final result, she posted ten points and seven rebounds.

Evergreen Christian has also been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 14 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-16 record this season. As for Virginia Academy, their win was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-8.

Looking ahead, Evergreen Christian is taking a road trip to face off against Rosedale Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Virginia Academy, they will welcome Fairfax HomeSchool at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Virginia Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Fairfax HomeSchool likes a good challenge.
