Football Recap: Raymore-Peculiar Comes Up Short

Raymore-Peculiar extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to five on Friday, dropping them down to 0-4. They were dealt a 44-7 defeat at the hands of the Blue Springs South Jaguars. The Panthers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-0.

As for Blue Springs South, they pushed their record up to 4-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. Fans of they have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

A big part of Blue Springs South's win came down to the chemistry between Ayden Wilhelm and his top target Gary Hill. Wilhelm threw for 141 yards and four touchdowns while Hill picked up 44 receiving yards and three scores. Those three receiving touchdowns gave Hill a new career-high.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Raymore-Peculiar is set to take on their familiar foe Lee's Summit West at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. Meanwhile, Blue Springs South will square off against rival Staley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
