Recap: Cardinal O'Hara Hawks vs. St. Mary's Lancers
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Cardinal O'Hara Hawks had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 55-6 victory over St. Mary's. Cardinal O'Hara might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won four matches by 47 points or more this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cardinal O'Hara to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jarrell Green, who rushed for 73 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries, and also threw for 229 yards and two touchdowns while completing 76.9% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Jakye Rainey, who picked up 177 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
The win was the third in a row for Cardinal O'Hara, bringing their record for this year to 4-5. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 50.67 points. As for St. Mary's, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-6.
Cardinal O'Hara will head out on the road to face off against Bishop Timon-St. Jude at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Bishop Timon-St. Jude will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. St. Mary's does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
