Meridian wins going away against Cobden

The Meridian Bobcats can now show off 11 landslide victories after their most recent match on Thursday. They blew past Cobden 48-23. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Meridian.

Cobden's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Natalie Franklin, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 13 rebounds. Franklin hasn't dropped below ten rebounds for 16 straight games.

Meridian is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. As for Cobden, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-17.

Meridian will head out on the road to take on Harrisburg at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meridian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 395th, while Harrisburg is ranked 183rd). As for Cobden, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Hardin County at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Cobden is facing Hardin County at the right time seeing as Hardin County is stuck on a 18-game losing streak.
