Swansboro had to settle for second on Friday, but Addison McMillan sure wasn't going down easily. McMillan turned in nothing short of a gem, pitching seven innings while giving up just two earned (and seven unearned) runs off nine hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

Looking ahead, McMillan and Swansboro are taking a road trip to challenge Croatan at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Pirates are 8-2 against the Cougars going back to March of 2019, a lead they'll look to extend.
