Basketball Recap: Rileigh Barnes Key Part of a Team Effort in Warriors Win

Andrew Jackson Academy won the last time they faced Jefferson Davis Academy and things went their way on Monday too. The Andrew Jackson Academy Warriors managed a 29-25 win over the Jefferson Davis Academy Raiders.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Andrew Jackson Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Rileigh Barnes, who posted eight points along with eight boards and six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of McKinnley Beard, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 15 rebounds.

Andrew Jackson Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in February of 2024.

The victory got Andrew Jackson Academy back to even at 8-8. As for Jefferson Davis Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games.
