Baseball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Bayou Academy

Bayou Academy waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured an 8-7 W against the Heritage Academy Patriots. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 14, 2023, but that streak is no more.

Ryan Mallette was incredible, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Reed Batts also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Bayou Academy's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-4. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.33 runs across that stretch. As for Heritage Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-13-1 record this season.

Bayou Academy will have a chance to go back-to-back against Heritage Academy: the pair will be back at it again later today.
