Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for St. Paul's Episcopal

St. Paul's Episcopal pushed their score to eight the last time they played Fairhope, but on Friday they couldn't quite do it again. The St. Paul's Episcopal Saints never let the Fairhope Pirates get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory. For the Saints, this counts as revenge for the 16-8 win the Pirates walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2023.

Not much got past Bradley Irish, who gave up just four hits and racked up ten Ks to keep Fairhope off the board. The dominant performance gave Irish a new career-high in strikeouts.

On the hitting side, St. Paul's Episcopal saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tate Johnston, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

The victory (which was St. Paul's Episcopal's third in a row) raised their record to 3-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs over those games. As for Fairhope, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Paul's Episcopal will face off against Chelsea at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. The last three games Chelsea has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Fairhope, they will challenge Hartselle at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
