Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Heritage). Their defense stepped up to hand the Knightdale Knights a 9-0 shutout on Monday. Heritage's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last five contests.

Their offense was hitting Knightdale from everywhere, as seven different players booted in a goal. Cole Capps led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for three goals all by himself.

Heritage has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-2-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up four goals over those 12 matches. As for Knightdale, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-13.
