Softball Game Preview: Potts Camp Cardinals vs. Amory Panthers

The Potts Camp Cardinals will head out on the road to challenge the Amory Panthers at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Potts Camp's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Amory's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Potts Camp's offense. They fell just short of Hatley by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday. The Cardinals' defeat signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.

Alyssa Clifton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Amory faced off against Nettleton on Friday. The Panthers took a 14-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers.

Amory has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-11 record this season. As for Potts Camp, the loss was their first at home , dropping their record down to 9-2.
