Baseball Recap: Heritage Takes a Loss

Heritage extended their losing streak to five on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 4-11 in the process. They came up short against the Prairie Falcons, falling 16-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 on Monday.

As for Prairie, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-6. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Prairie's part, Aidan Emery tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Emery has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Prairie got a massive performance out of Kishon Brown, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those two hits gave Brown a new career-high. Owen Dirks also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Heritage wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 10-1 defeat against Franklin Pierce on the 26th. As for Prairie, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 6-0 win against Seton Catholic on the 25th.
