            It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Cardinal Gibbons had no problem doing just that  on Wednesday. They came out on top against the LaBelle Cowboys/Cowgirls by a score of  4-1.
 Lydia Berent spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a  run (which was  unearned)  on four hits and racked up 16 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in 11 consecutive appearances.
 At the plate, Cardinal Gibbons' victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was  Elena Elash, who  went 1-for-3 with one  run and one  double.

Cardinal Gibbons pushed their record up to 22-5 with the  win, which was their seventh straight  at home. The  home  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games.  Cardinal Gibbons will head out to  take on Somerset Academy (Silver Palms)  at 7:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. The Stallions' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3  runs per game  this season, so the Chiefs' hitters will have their work cut out for them. LaBelle does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
