Baseball Game Preview: Miami Wardogs vs. Locust Grove Pirates

For the second straight game, Miami will face off against Locust Grove. Miami will venture away from home to take on Locust Grove at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

While Miami's win against Locust Grove wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Miami sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 victory over Locust Grove on Monday.

Miami got a great performance from Ben Sherman as he tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits.

At the plate, Sam Lillard and Rhett Howe did most of the damage at the plate: Lillard scored a run while going 2-for-3, while Howe went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run. The dominant performance also gave Lillard a new career-high in RBI (three). Chase McCormick also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Miami's win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-7. As for Locust Grove, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.
