With a playoff win on the line, Pillow Academy rose to the challenge on Saturday. They came out on top against the Leake Academy Rebels by a score of 46-37. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Mustangs' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 34th, while the Rebels are ranked fifth).

Several Rebels players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sarah Prince, who posted eight points. Jenna Allen was another key player, going 5-for-11 en route to 12 points.

Pillow Academy is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 17 games, which provided a nice bump to their 22-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.1 points over those games. As for Leake Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 32-5.
