Basketball Recap: Mylee Daly's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Arthur County over South Platte

Arthur County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They fell 57-47 to the South Platte Blue Knights. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blue Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 53-28 back in December of 2024.

Several Wolves players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mylee Daly, who went 5-for-12 to rack up 13 points. Another player making a difference was Ryan Eilers, who posted six points in addition to nine boards and five assists.

Even though they lost, Arthur County was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

South Platte found their leader in sophomore Jayla Paulsen, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and 13 rebounds. With that strong performance, Paulsen is now averaging an impressive 8 boards per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabelle Reichman, who went 5-for-11 on her way to 17 points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Arthur County's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for South Platte, they pushed their record up to 15-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Arthur County has already played their next game, a 53-39 win against Potter-Dix on the 14th. As for South Platte, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 47-27 loss against Paxton on the 8th.
