Softball Recap: Los Lunas Drops Highest Score of Season Against Gallup

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Los Lunas). They were the clear victors by a 16-2 margin over the Gallup Bengals on Tuesday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Tigers with their most commanding win of the season.

Lauren Lucero was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Jaslene Duran was another key player, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double.

Los Lunas was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .542. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in five consecutive matchups.

Los Lunas' record is now 7-4. As for Gallup, they dropped their record down to 2-7 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Los Lunas didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 8-2 win against Bernalillo on the 27th. As for Gallup, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 16-7 victory against Santa Fe on the 31st.
