Volleyball Recap: Hibriten Takes a Loss

Hibriten was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the West Caldwell Warriors. The Panthers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Warriors earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

Hibriten actually scored more points across those five sets (109-105), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 25-22, 20-25, 25-22, 18-25, 17-15.

Hibriten's loss dropped their record down to 5-17. As for West Caldwell, they moved to 5-16 with that victory, which also ended their three-match losing streak.

Hibriten and West Caldwell could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. The Panthers will challenge Draughn at 6:00 p.m. on Monday with a big rank disadvantage (528 vs. 149). Meanwhile, West Caldwell (ranked 567th) will meet R-S Central (ranked 275th) at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
