Soccer Recap: Easley Takes a Loss

If Easley was riding high fresh off their 6-0 takedown of Woodmont on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Green Wave fell 2-0 to the Greenville Red Raiders on Thursday. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 4, 2023, but that streak is no more.

Easley's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-6. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Greenville, Greenwood, and J.L. Mann. As for the Red Raiders, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-2-1 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Easley will venture away from home to square off against J.L. Mann at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. J.L. Mann's defense has only allowed 0.1 goals per game this season, so Easley's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Greenville, they will head out to take on Greenwood at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Greenwood will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Greenville surely won't give up without a fight.
