Basketball Recap: Whetstone Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Whetstone needed a changed in momentum after dropping three straight games and they got it from Catherine Pierce. The Whetstone Braves came out on top against the East Tigers by a score of 54-42 on Tuesday thanks in part to Pierce, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds. She also grabbed six steals, which is notable because Whetstone is 6-3 when she posts at least three steals, but 2-3 otherwise.

Whetstone's victory bumped their record up to 8-6. As for East, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Whetstone will host Mifflin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Whetstone has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for East, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the East Tigers face off against the Linden-McKinley Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
