Thayer has gone a perfect 10-0 against Cabool recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Bobcats are taking a road trip to square off against the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Thayer has five straight victories, Cabool has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

If Thayer beats Cabool with 55 points on Friday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Bobcats breezed past Houston to the tune of 55-12 on Friday. Considering the Bobcats have won three matchups by more than 34 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Thomas Poole and Dawson Harris were among the main playmakers for Thayer as the former rushed for 143 yards and a pair of TDs on only six carries and the latter rushed for 81 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Thayer was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 422 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Houston only rushed for 83.

Meanwhile, Cabool was beaten by Mountain Grove 66-6 on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri football rankings (they are ranked 286th, while the Panthers are ranked 96th).

Thayer's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Cabool, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Everything came up roses for Thayer against Cabool in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 70-6 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bobcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
