Recap: Owyhee Braves vs. Virginia City Muckers

The Owyhee Braves scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They put the hurt on Virginia City with a sharp 51-27 win. The victory was just what Owyhee needed coming off of a 52-25 defeat in their prior contest.

Several Muckers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kaiya Krum, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. Those 13 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Nanna Lopez, who scored two points along with five rebounds and four blocks.

Owyhee now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Virginia City, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Owyhee won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Mineral County at 6:00 p.m. on December 15th. Mineral County comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last five games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. Virginia City and Portola will face off at 4:00 p.m. on December 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
