Basketball Recap: Sumrall Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Sumrall can now relate to. They had to suffer through a 70-40 loss at the hands of the Morton Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Bobcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 157th, while the Panthers are ranked 19th).

Sumrall's loss dropped their record down to 18-16. As for Morton, the win (which was their 15th in a row) raised their record to 24-5.

Sumrall does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Morton, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Panthers duke it out with the Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
