Football Game Preview: Armijo Royals vs. Foothill Mustangs + How To Watch

Armijo is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Friday. They are taking a road trip to take on the Foothill Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. Armijo has given up an average of 40.7 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Armijo is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Edison last Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Royals were dealt a 55-18 defeat at the hands of the Vikings. While losing is never fun, the Royals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 703rd, while the Vikings are ranked 221st).

Despite the loss, Armijo had strong showings from Korey Choyce, who threw for 220 yards and two TDs, and Tayjon Harrell (Tj), who picked up 97 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter and that's exactly how it played out for Foothill on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew Johnson out of the water with a 58-31 final score. The victory continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won four in a row.

Foothill's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Armijo, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Armijo strolled past Foothill in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 by a score of 36-20. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Royals since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
